About Guru Vilas Nathji Maharaj
Yogi Vilasnath Maharaj (born 19 September 1957) is a famous Guru of Natha Tradition, who is making a lot of efforts for the development and spreading of tradition in India and abroad.
Yogi Vilasnath is the main successor of Shri Baba Anandanath Maharaj (who was a Mahamantri in Nath Tradition) and the Mahant of Om Shiv Goraksha Panchayatan Mandir (Galane, Malegaon distr., Nashik). He is widely known in the Tradition owing to his extensive knowledge, his books and paintings. Yogi Vilasnath had been next to his Guru for over 20 years and with his blessings written many important books on nath’s practices, particularly the well-known of them is “Shri Nath Rahasya” which contains almost all of mantras and rituals of Nathas, and nearly every Nath-yogi has this book. He is the author of Shri Goraksha Chalisa, Shri Natha Siddha Kawacha that are also known in India.
Yogi Vilasnath was born on 19 September 1957 in Nashik, Maharashtra in India. His father’s name is Mr. Shankar Rao Kapile, and his mother’s name is Mrs. Vatsaladevi S. Kapile. Yogi Vilasnath was educated on B.Sc. with Physics in 1979 in Bytco college (Nasik) of University of Puna. After that he worked as Supervisor in Pharma Synthechemical Factory, Nashik, from 1981 to 1984 and as Shift Supervisor in FFC LTD, Nashik, from 1984 to 1991. During the Kumbh Mela in 1991 Yogi Vilasnath was initiated in Nath Sampradaya by his Guru Yogi Anandanathji Maharaj and moved to the Guru Gorakshnath Mandir, Haridwar, as a Nath Yogi of Ai-Panth.
During his long life near Guru, among Nath-yogis and sadhus, traveling over all India, Yogi Vilasnath had great experience in perceiving of Atman and Paramatman, supreme knowledge, in meditation on the different forms of God and Goddess. He also had experience in samadhi in different condition like in water, wine, ground, on the trees etc. These were the milestones or foundation towards Vilanathji’s way to Moksha. During his spirit journey Yogi Vilasnath had discovered Author, Painter & great Orator inside him, he wrote many books which are very much helpful Nath Sampraday as well as Common Man. He went on draw many wall paintings at Galana, (Malegaon) Maharashtra at his Guruji’s Ashram & also at Guru Gorakshnath Temple Haridwar. Haridwar is also the place where Nath Sampradaya is having its strong presence and is ever expanding. Haridwar itself is a place having long history, it is place where King Bhartrihari meditated at the place where now a huge and famous temple of Guru Gorakshanath is standing. For a long time Yogi Vilasnath was the Main Pujari in this Mandir.
For supporting and extending the tradition of Natha yoga, in 2011, Yogi Vilasnath was invited by Yogi Matsyendranath to visit Russia and Europe, where he held a number of satsangs and gave his advice and blessings on the development of schools of Yogi Matsyendranath in the CIS and the West. During this visit Yogi Vilasnath became a member of European Academy of Tibetan Medicine and Yoga as a Honorable Doctor of Yoga Philosophy (Germany). At present time Guru Yogi Vilasnath is a member of “Akhil Bharatvarshiya Avadhut Bhesh Barah Panth Yogi Mahasabha” (the organization of 12 Panthas), where he is engaged in the development and distribution of tradition (Prachar Prasar Adeksha). In 2012 during the Great Ceremony of Shankhadhaal for his Guruji Anandanath Maharaj, Yogi Vilasnath ji was also appointed Mahant of Om Shiv Goraksha Panchayatan Mandir in Galane, Maharashtra. In December 2013 Yogi Vilasnath visited Russia again for support Natha yogis in Tumen, also gave a big Satsang in Moscow. In present he has a many students in Russia and Europe, some of them also became a Guru (darshani).
During his visit to Germany he is become a member of “European Academy of Tibetan Medicine and yoga as a Honorable Doctor of Yoga Philosophy”.
In 2014, He visited to MRIGASTHALI Temple and Pashu pati nath temple in the Nepal for Research on Guru Goraksh Nathji and Nath Sampradaya History.
Poland, in 2016 and Ukrain in 2017, He invited for international yoga day 21st June guided Hath Yoga classes and Spiritual Practices performed Homa rituals and gave Dikshas for his disciples, In Ukrain he founded and Research Spiritual places as Aarya Sanskriti of India.
